About Northern Region
The Northern Region is one of the three regions of the African country Malawi in total. The northern region is by far the smallest region of the country in terms of both surface area and population. The region is adjacent to Zambia in the west, Tanzania in the north, Lake Malawi in the east and the Central Region in the south.
The administrative capital of the region is Mzuzu, which is also the third largest city in the country. The region is also divided into six districts within itself, and these districts are listed from north to south as follows: Chitipa, Karonga, Rumphi, Mzimba, Nkhata Bay, Likoma.
Northern Malawi has a lot to offer visitors. Less known than the rest of the country and with a lower population density, it is a region for those who want to experience Africa in its most unspoilt form. Its pretty astonishing beauty is a lasting memory of anyone who discovered this unique region of Central Africa.
