About Chikwawa
Chikwawa is one of the 28 counties of the African country Malawi. Chikwawa is located within the Southern region, one of the three regions of the country. The central city of the county is the city of Chikwawa, which has the same name as the general of the county. The district is neighbor with Thyolo district in the east, Blantyre district in the northeast, Mwanza district in the north, Nsanje district in the southeast and Mozambique state in the west and south.
The district is the second largest district in the Southern region of the country in terms of surface area and is the sixth in the country. According to the official government data of 2008, 356682 people were living in the district where 438895 population lived, according to 1998 official data.
